State Codes and Ethical Provisions

Codes of ethics or professional conduct are principles designed to help professionals conduct business honestly and with integrity. Where a state has a code in statute or regulation, we have included the link below. If a state does not reference a specific code, we have included what constitutes grounds for discipline. Statutes and regulations may change at any time, so check with your state for the most up-to-date information.

If you are interested in advocating for a code of ethics in your state practice act, you can use ASHA’s Code of Ethics as suggested language. For more information regarding these ethical provisions, contact ASHA Ethics at ethics@asha.org.
